Trip journal for Android

Every trip, written down.

Tap Start when you set off and End when you arrive. ETA records the route in between, then shows you where you went, how long it took, how far, and what it cost. Your trips stay on your phone.

Only between Start and End

A notification shows the whole time. ETA never asks for background location.

Stays on your phone

Nothing leaves it unless you turn on backup. No account needed.

No ads, no analytics

No tracking in the app, and we don’t sell your data.

How it works

Start when you leave. End when you arrive.

ETA never starts on its own and never guesses where you went. You decide when a trip begins and ends, and it records only in between.

  1. 01 · Start

    Driving or riding along

Choose for each trip. Add a vehicle and a purpose if you like. Rides never need a vehicle.

  2. 02 · Go

Always in view, easy to stop

A notification with Pause and End shows for the whole trip. Close the app and ETA keeps recording.

  3. 03 · End

Hold to end, and it’s saved

Hold End for a second, so a stray tap never ends a trip. Changed your mind? Resume is right there.

The trip report

The whole trip on one page.

The moment you end, ETA lays out where you went, how long it took and how you moved. Metrics first, map second.

  • Where you went

The route on a map, with the street address of where you started and where you ended.

  • Moving and stopped

How long you were on the move, how long you waited, and how fast you went while moving.

  • What the drive cost

Add your vehicle’s consumption and fuel price and ETA estimates each drive. Until then it says “Needs data”, never a made-up zero.

  • Yours to keep or take

Add a note, fix the place names, export GPX or CSV, or open the route in your maps app.

ETA asks for “While using the app”, never background location, and a notification shows the whole time.

Place names

When a trip ends online, Android’s geocoder turns its start and end points into street addresses.

Maps

Open a report online and Google Maps loads that area. The route itself is drawn on your phone.

Export GPX or CSV at any time. Delete everything from Settings in one step.

Questions

Good to know.

Something else? Visit support.

Is ETA a navigation app?

No. ETA doesn’t give directions or predict arrival times. It’s a journal of the trips you’ve taken: you start a trip, travel however you like, and end it when you arrive.

Does ETA track me all the time?

No. It records only between Start and End, with a notification the whole time. It never asks for background location.

What if I close the app during a trip?

Recording carries on, and the notification stays so you can pause or end. If the phone restarts mid-trip, ETA offers to save or resume the trip the next time you open it.

Do I need an account?

No. Everything works on your phone without one. An account is only for the optional backup, and you sign in with a code sent to your email.

How is a drive’s cost worked out?

Distance × your vehicle’s consumption × the fuel or charge price you entered. Until a vehicle has those, the report says “Needs data” instead of guessing.

Can I get my trips out?

Yes. Export any trip as GPX or CSV, export every trip as CSV, or open a route in your maps app.
